WE NEED YOUR HELP! There is a great deal of organization and work that goes on “off the field” to make sure the League operates successfully. As a volunteer organization, Ridge Baseball Club relies on participating families to operate efficiently. In order to encourage volunteer participation and to be equitable to all families, the league implemented a Work Bond Program in 2008.
At time of player registration, each family will be required to file a Work Bond in the amount of $100 with the Ridge Baseball Club Work Bond Program by mailing a $100 check to P.O. Box 98 Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Each family will be required to volunteer four (4) hours of service towards the operation of the League. Jobs for which a family may volunteer will include: player evaluations (spring & travel), clinics, sportswear sales, opening day, summer tournaments, fundraising, facilities clean-up and improvement, etc. In addition, managing and coaching a team may fulfill Work Bond obligations, limited to one manager and three coaches per team. Available jobs will be posted on the website throughout the spring and summer baseball seasons.
Once the entire 2017 season is completed, each family that has fulfilled its volunteer obligation will have their Work Bond returned. Additionally, any player whose family does not file the requisite $100 Work Bond will not be placed on a team and will not receive a uniform. Please note that it is the League’s preference that every family fulfills its Work Bond obligation by volunteering.
